These Terms of Service are a legally binding agreement between you and WeatherFront LLC, a Nebraska limited liability company located at 200 S 21 ST STE 400A, Lincoln, NE 68510, United States ("WeatherFront," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using WeatherFront websites, applications, data services, subscriptions, dashboards, reporting tools, or other products that link to these terms, you agree to these Terms of Service.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use WeatherFront. If you use WeatherFront on behalf of a company, organization, agency, or other entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these terms.
1. Eligibility and Accounts
You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for protecting your login credentials, and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
2. Subscriptions, Trials, and Billing
Some features require a paid subscription, organization plan, app-store purchase, or other paid access. Prices, included features, trial periods, renewal terms, taxes, and cancellation rules are shown at the point of purchase or in the applicable app store, marketplace, invoice, or order form. Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions renew until canceled. You are responsible for canceling before renewal if you do not want the subscription to continue.
Purchases made through Apple, Google, or another third-party platform are also governed by that platform's payment and cancellation rules. We do not receive or store your full payment card number when payments are handled by a third-party payment processor.
3. Weather Information and Safety
WeatherFront provides weather visualization, situational awareness, and decision-support tools. Weather data can be delayed, incomplete, unavailable, incorrectly processed, or interpreted incorrectly. Weather conditions can change rapidly. WeatherFront is not an emergency alerting system and is not a substitute for official warnings, instructions from public safety authorities, NOAA Weather Radio, Wireless Emergency Alerts, local media, or other official sources.
You are responsible for your own decisions and safety. For life-safety decisions, verify information with official sources such as the National Weather Service at weather.gov and follow guidance from emergency management and public safety officials.
4. User Content and Reports
WeatherFront may let users submit, upload, display, or share content, including field reports, custom alerts, location reports, storm chaser information, profile information, text, photos, videos, or other media ("User Content"). You retain ownership of your User Content, but you grant WeatherFront a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, process, display, transmit, moderate, remove, and otherwise use that User Content as needed to operate, improve, protect, and provide WeatherFront.
You represent that you have the rights needed to submit your User Content and that it is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Do not submit unlawful, misleading, harassing, defamatory, infringing, private, dangerous, or otherwise harmful content. We may remove or restrict User Content at any time.
5. Location Reporting and Shared Views
Some features allow live or recent location sharing inside an organization, public-reporting session, storm chaser workflow, or shared overlay. Only enable location reporting when you have permission to do so and understand who can view the information. You are responsible for configuring sessions, groups, and access permissions appropriately.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use WeatherFront for unlawful, unsafe, abusive, or fraudulent purposes.
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload, probe, or attack WeatherFront systems.
- Attempt to bypass authentication, authorization, rate limits, entitlements, paywalls, or technical restrictions.
- Scrape, crawl, bulk download, mirror, redistribute, resell, or rehost WeatherFront data, files, APIs, map layers, or visual outputs except as expressly allowed by us in writing.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, copy, or modify WeatherFront software except where applicable law expressly allows it.
- Remove or obscure copyright, attribution, source, or proprietary notices.
- Submit content that violates another person's rights or exposes private information without authorization.
7. WeatherFront Content and Intellectual Property
WeatherFront software, interfaces, designs, logos, branding, compiled datasets, generated assets, documentation, and other materials are owned by WeatherFront or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use WeatherFront for its intended purpose, subject to these terms and any applicable plan limits.
8. Third-Party Data, Maps, and Services
WeatherFront uses data, maps, infrastructure, and services from public and private third parties, including weather agencies, mapping providers, cloud providers, app stores, payment processors, and other vendors. Third-party data and services may be subject to their own licenses, terms, attribution requirements, availability limits, and disclaimers. WeatherFront is not endorsed by NOAA, the National Weather Service, or any government agency unless expressly stated.
9. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and retain information. By using WeatherFront, you acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
10. Service Availability and Changes
We may update, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of WeatherFront at any time. We may also change features, data sources, supported products, plan limits, or technical requirements. We are not liable for outages, data-source interruptions, degraded performance, or loss of access.
WeatherFront depends on third-party data sources, networks, cloud services, app stores, payment processors, mapping providers, content delivery networks, government systems, and user devices. Weather data, radar files, model data, satellite imagery, alerts, map tiles, live locations, uploaded media, APIs, and other content may be delayed, missing, unavailable, corrupted, changed, rate-limited, or interrupted for reasons outside our control. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, data freshness, archive availability, successful downloads, or continuous access to any particular dataset, feature, provider, or file.
11. Disclaimers
WeatherFront is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise, including warranties of accuracy, availability, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted operation.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, WeatherFront will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, business interruption, personal injury, property damage, or emergency response decisions arising from or related to your use of WeatherFront.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to WeatherFront will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid to WeatherFront for the service giving rise to the claim in the three months before the claim or $25.
13. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless WeatherFront, its owners, employees, contractors, and affiliates from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from your use of WeatherFront, your User Content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of law or another person's rights.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to WeatherFront if we believe you violated these terms, created risk for WeatherFront or others, or used the service in a way that is unlawful, harmful, or outside the intended scope of your plan. You may stop using WeatherFront at any time.
Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive, including provisions concerning User Content licenses, acceptable use, intellectual property, privacy, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, governing law, export controls, severability, and any payment obligations incurred before termination.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Nebraska, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Nebraska, unless applicable law requires a different venue.
16. Export Controls and Sanctions
You may not access, use, export, re-export, or transfer WeatherFront except as authorized by United States law and any other applicable laws. You represent that you are not located in, organized under the laws of, or ordinarily resident in a country or territory subject to a U.S. government embargo or comprehensive sanctions program, and that you are not listed on any U.S. government list of prohibited, sanctioned, or restricted parties. You are responsible for complying with applicable export-control and sanctions laws.
17. Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect, and the invalid, illegal, or unenforceable provision will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted by law.
18. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be effective when posted unless a later effective date is stated. Your continued use of WeatherFront after changes become effective means you accept the updated terms.
